Meet the Team: Casy Cochrum
Having experienced the benefits of physical fitness following her college athletic career, Casy went on to develop a passion for true fitness – striving for health that extended far beyond the strength and speed of an active young adult and moving deeper into pursuit of fitness that would last beyond her youth. This process of discovery would include pushing herself to new limits in areas of nutrition, rest, mental stimulation, emotional stability, and community involvement. She sought to develop a lifestyle of healthy habits that would give her strength and energy throughout the day and allow her the freedom to experience life in all of its arenas.
Through her disciplines of exercise and nutrition for both her mind and her body she noticed a growing impact, not only on her physical confidence, but on her overall mood as well. She also found a correlation between her workouts, her ability to focus, and better sleep. After further study, she discovered that science has found evidence to support her experience. Experts now know that exercise stimulates the brain thereby helping people to focus, learn, and remember.
As a teacher, this realization caused her to seek ways of encouraging exercise as an outlet for her students, particularly those who had behavioral problems or trouble focusing in the classroom. Desiring to find creative ways to pull kids away from their technology and to get them moving, Casy began sharing the message that fitness should be a vital part of their daily routine – one that can grow with them even after graduation. In true concern for the welfare of these little ones, she pushes kids to challenge themselves physically to build confidence from the inside out.
“Kids were not created to sit it a classroom, and adults were not made to sit at a desk all day. When children have trouble focusing in the classroom, pills should not be the first option. If adults get depressed, we should not immediately turn to drugs. I want to inform people about the medicine that helps you be truly fit, exercise for your mind, body, and heart.” – Casy Cochrum
